Frontend Engineer

San Francisco, CAFull-timehybrid$161K – $200K / yrPosted 2026-06-25

We're hiring a frontend engineer to build the interfaces our customers use every single day. You'll work in React and TypeScript alongside designers to turn Figma files into fast, accessible, pixel-accurate UI. We care a lot about performance and a little less about which CSS framework you personally prefer, so come with opinions but stay flexible. You'll ship weekly, get fast feedback from real users, and have a real say in how the component library evolves over time.

What you'll do

  • Build responsive, accessible UI components in React and TypeScript
  • Translate Figma designs into production-ready components with attention to detail
  • Optimize page load performance and Core Web Vitals across key user flows
  • Write unit and integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to define and consume GraphQL or REST APIs
  • Participate in design reviews to flag feasibility issues early

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years of professional experience with React and modern JavaScript
  • Solid grasp of TypeScript, CSS layout systems, and responsive design
  • Experience working directly from Figma design specs
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Comfortable with Git-based workflows and code review
  • Good communicator who can push back on designs constructively

Nice to have

  • Experience with Next.js or another React meta-framework
  • Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
  • Basic understanding of backend API design
